Qiqi is an ancient vessel which is so constructed that when it contains no water, it stands obliquely; when half filled, it stands upright; but when full, it will fall down. Confucious is the first man who proposed this life philosophy theory from the unique priciple of Qiqi.That is if empty, it inclines; if half full, it is upright, and if completely full, it overturns. This qiqi alludes to a symbolic warning against complacency and suppoting harmony. That the human beings pursuit of the concept of harmonious, srable and togeter development embodies Confucius ideological essenc---“harmony”.The story is well-known which is about Confucius and his students visited the ancestral temple of Duke Huan of Qi . The life philosophy theory are put right beside the seat, warning people which is the princile of being a human, and that is the source of zuo you ming.
The collections is casting in gold(Au9999), and the body of this Qiqi are surrounded by “benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and trusthe”, which are the essence of Confusious theory. Both sides of the middle relief of a bat care and two words of ceremony and hamony." , it implies a Confucius saying: "In ritual purposes , harmony is precious.”and blessing to the people. The lower half of each Qiqi are relief of four propitious auspicious animal totems which indicate four directions in the ancient, that is dragon, white tiger, red phoenix and basalt.
